In this essay, you will use your Summary / Analysis Essay about the film Gran Torino. This essay must have a coherent, insightful thesis statement that is stated in the introduction and in the conclusion.
Each body paragraph must begin with a specific, focused topic sentence.
This essay must consist of at least five paragraphs (an introduction, at least three body paragraphs, and a conclusion).
This essay must use correct MLA citation procedures for both in-text documentation and the works cited page.
This essay must avoid the infamous “Monster Errors”: fragments, fused sentences, and comma splices.
This essay must avoid contractions, second person, unnecessary first person, slang, and misspelled words.
This essay must make an effort to avoid other errors discussed in class, specifically misused commas and apostrophes.
NOTE: You need to achieve all of these points to score in the “Meets Expectations” section on the rubric.
